Spend the weekend exploring the beautiful shores of the Cumberland River with like-minded men as you learn wilderness survival skills, meditation practices, and reflective writing techniques. This expo is designed to sharpen your skills, clear your mind, and facilitate powerful self-reflection. 

You will learn:

    • How to pack a rucksack for traveling long distances comfortably.

    • How to make water safe to drink.

    • How to tie a series of basic knots and how to use them.

    • How to create a series of shelters.

    • How to start, build, and cook on a fire.

    • What to do in the case of rain or storm to stay safe.

    • What ancient mystics and philosophers said about the use of nature for personal improvement.

    • How to utilize an Eastern meditation technique to achieve a state of mental tranquility.

    • How to utilize a Western meditation technique to achieve a state of deep contemplation.

    • How to use these techniques to improve productivity, clarity, and focus.

    • How to use the natural environment as a catalyst for contemplation and reflection.

    • Guided writing prompts meant to unlock creativity and personal reflection.

    • How writing and journaling free our minds and allow us to grow beyond our invisible limitations.

    • How a daily writing practice can increase your attention span, improve your focus, and enhance your productivity.

Expo Overview

Saturday:

  • Carpool leaves Nashville at 8 AM

  • 9 AM Briefing/Writing Session

  • 10:00 AM Hike begins

  • 1 PM Lunch at River Overlook

  • 3 PM Arrive at campsite

  • 3 PM - 5 PM Wilderness Skills session

  • 4 pm - 5 pm Meditation & writing session

  • 6 PM Jeffersonian-style dinner Feast

  • 7 PM Meditation & Writing session

  • 8 PM freetime

Sunday:

  • 8 AM Meditation & Writing Session

  • 9 AM Wilderness Skills Session

  • 10 AM Breakfast

  • 11 AM Hike begins
